How Injection Molding Works
Molten resin is injected into a precision mold, cooled, and ejected, producing identical parts at high volume once the mold is made.
How Plastic Fabrication Works
Plastic sheet or stock is cut, machined, and formed into parts without a mold, better suited to low-volume runs, prototypes, or larger parts.
Cost & Volume Considerations
Injection molding carries an upfront mold tooling cost but a lower per-unit price at volume. Fabrication has no tooling cost, so it's often more economical below the volume where a mold pays for itself.
Which One Fits Your Part?
